Nice to meet you.
I’m Alex!
In today’s dynamic design landscape, my journey into UX design began unexpectedly during my time teaching English at Bumin Elementary School in Busan, South Korea. Faced with students from a low income area with varying English proficiency levels, and being tasked with teaching them how to speak, read, write, and listen in English, I had to get creative. To bridge this gap I leaned on design principles to present information in different ways by using color, shape, space, and hierarchy to tell a story. This approach helped the kids make connections between their experience and the target language in the classroom. I discovered a passion for creatively redesigning teaching materials to enhance comprehension and engagement.
I’m enthusiastic about contributing my passion for connection, operational approach, and innovative mindset to your team. During the 7 years I’ve spent aiding clients with UX design, the 9 years spent teaching English in South Korea, and the 3 years I’ve spent managing a high volume doctor’s office, I’ve seen the importance of effective communication and relationship building, and the impact it can have on any situation. I excel at fostering genuine connection which is driven by my love and compassion for people. My professional experience and time working overseas have deepened my appreciation for empathetic design and intuitive communication. Combining my creative instincts with a strong operational background I approach UX design with a strategic mindset, always mindful of business objectives and process improvements. I thrive in collaborative environments where diverse perspectives drive innovation and user-centric solutions.
